Recipe #3 – Smoked Pulled Pork Sliders

Remarks:

I used the front shoulder from this 115lb sow for this recipe. I recommend a vinegar based sauce for this. I used Franklin’s Vinegar BBQ Sauce and it was amazing. .

Ingredients:
  • Hog front shoulder
  • Yellow Mustard
  • TexJoy Seasoning
  • 16 oz Mexican Coke
  • 18 oz BBQ Sauce
  • Cole slaw
  • Hawaiian Rolls
Steps:
  • Rinse and dry completely the pork.
  • Slather all sides with Yellow Mustard and apply TexJoy seasoning to all sides of the pork.
  • Smoke over Oak or Hickory at 215-225 F for 3-5 hours depending on the size, don’t over do it.
  • Place smoked shoulder in Crockpot and pour in the Mexican Coke, cook on low for about 6 hours
Come by every hour or so and pour liquid over exposed meat, check for tenderness
  • Drain liquid, add 18 oz BBQ sauce and 18 oz water, cook on low for about 4 hours
  • At this point the meat should easily shred and it’s ready
On The Plate:
  • Pull the pork and serve on Hawaiian Rolls
Top with your favorite Cole slaw and cheddar cheese if desired
Final Thoughts:

These were unbelievably good. Everyone came back for seconds and there were zero leftovers. I can’t recommend this enough, you have to try it.
